From April to October 2017, Techwise carried out its first wind turbine installation engineering project for the renewable sector in China. The developer of the Binhai North H2# 400MW Offshore Windfarm Project is State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) and the project comprises 100 wind turbines with a total capacity of 400MW.
Techwise's client is Sinomarine & Teras (Tianjin) Offshore Co., Ltd. The multi-purpose self-elevating jack-up "Chang De" is used to install the wind turbines. Techwise's scope of work included:
Preparing project execution plan for the wind turbine installation;
Geotechnical assessment of the wind turbine installation locations;
Site specific assessment of the installation vessel "Chang De" as per SNAME guideline;
Preparing the stowage plan of "Change De";
Seafastening & grillage design of the wind turbine components onboard of "Chang De";
Intact and damaged stability analyses of "Chang De" for transportation of wind turbine components;
Analyses for transferring and installation of wind turbines using "Chang De";
Wind turbine installation procedures.
The Techwise team consisted of one project manager, two naval architects, one structural/civil engineer, one geotechnical specialist and two draftsmen. The team worked closely with other parties and resolved various technical challenges in the project. Offshore installation is currently ongoing.
